I love lighting a candle. I made a new one this holiday season, covering a white pillar candle in a napkin with a beautiful scene of deer. I loved watching it illuminate as it burned down. I was very aware that as it burned, the edges were getting closer to the flame. All I can say is thank goodness I was right there when the paper caught fire this morning. Yikes!!! Time for a new candle as this is a cherished morning ritual.

Oh goodness, what a shock that must have been. I can totally see myself watching the candle and then jumping up as it starts to ignite 😂. I love the idea of wrapping the candle!

This is lovely. As a Muslim, I find so much beauty in the concept of Tadabbur deeply contemplating creation. Winter has such a specific, hushed frequency that forces us to slow down and really hear our own thoughts (and the crackle of the fire!). It’s a wonderful nudge to treat the sounds of the season as a form of meditation. Such a calming read.

Thank you so much! I was not familiar with Tadabbur. I just read about it, and it is a beautiful practice of looking deeper. Inner reflection is so valuable.

Does watering my houseplants 🪴 count as a ritual? There are over one hundred and it can take me hours to complete the task, but I get sidetracked sometimes by laundry 🧺 or making bread 🍞. If I water too quickly, I wouldn’t have quality time with each plant, so best to take it slow and carefully check for pests, remove dead leaves and talk to them. 🥰

I love this! Yes! Watering your plants is a ritual. I think making bread is a great one too!! I think anything that we can do while staying in the present moment grounds us and is perfect! I have some friends who love to fold laundry!

Thank you Amy. It feels so good to know others will benefit from this conversation and feel better in themselves. Plants are so good at stress busting, so I recommend all who are reading this to grow houseplants. If advice is required, just message me and I can help as I’ve been growing indoor plants since I was 11, and that was 59 years ago.

I just walked through the 12 Oracle/Omen days for the first time, with two oracle decks I received for Christmas. I'm drawn to learning how to tune into the cards and my connection to the Divine through them.

I've been contemplating how to work with the cards going forward. I like your idea of a pull to start the week and focusing on a question.

I did end up choosing (or maybe it chose me :) a word of the year: Curious. It kept coming up throughout December from multiple unrelated sources and then I pulled my very 1st card on Christmas day: "Live the Question", so "Curious" it is!

I do a short yoga session and meditation each morning, even if they're only a few minutes each. They help me tune into where I'm starting from that day.

Thank you for sharing 💕

Enjoy your week 😊

I did the Omen days for the first time last year, and I love the process. Isn’t it amazing how things start to come up on repeat? I love that, synchronicity at work!
