The A-Z of Tending
small ways we care about life, land, body and spirit
This feels like a full circle moment. Ten years ago, I participated in the 2016 A-Z Challenge. The theme was mostly around our family trip to Spain. At that time our daughters struggles were coming to ahead and a mere six weeks later she was hospitalized for the first time. This is when my words began to dry up as we began to navigate the road to her recovery.
Now, ten years later, we are all stronger and have learned humbling life lessons. I began to dabble in this space three years ago, a new place away from my Blogger days, yet it was very comforting to be here, like I had arrived home. Maybe, because I had developed a broader life view, having found resilience I did not know I was capable of, and still staying true to what have turned into the pillars of this space.
2026 A-Z Challenge will surround Aprilβs theme, tending.
Instead of 26 days in a row of posts. I will be doing a weekly post with a reflection on the word of that day, a journaling prompt and a small tending practice that you can do. The rest of that weekβs words will be in the form of photos and short reflections to notes.
The words for this year are:
A β Attention
B β Boundaries
C β Care
D β Daily Rituals
E β Energy
F β Food
G β Garden
H β Home
I β Intention
J β Joy
K β Kitchen
L β Listening
M β Maintenance
N β Nurture
O β Order
P β Patience
Q β Quiet
R β Restoration
S β Stewardship
T β Tending
U β Understanding
V β Vitality
W β Water
X β Exchange
Y β Yield
Z β Zenith
I canβt wait for you to join me for this fun exercise in April!
