The early part of the year has been cold and grey. We have had little sunshine the last couple of months and coupled with ongoing disturbing news cycles, I have frequently caught myself gazing out this screened window.
On a rare day when the sun shone brightly,
I was thinking about the intricate fibers of life. While winter can be a time of hibernation, I also long for interconnectedness between ourselves and the earth, our families and friends, and our communities. I have been observing, turning my thoughts inward, and reflecting on the season of life I have just entered, the challenges I have faced, and how I have grown.Â
I am visualizing sending nurturing energy into my tap root. I can envision my toes grasping the grass and moving into the soil, centering myself with the earth, and expanding my breath. What will emerge in the increasing light of longer days is me growing, reaching forth, unfurling into the light stronger for the winter’s reflection.
I am ready to jump into this new season with energy, conviction, and enthusiasm. I am ready to feel the light of growth.
I am looking forward to participating with loads of amazing writers in Siren Songs for International Women’s Day 2025 on March 8th. Please click the link to find out more and join us!
